Joseph was awarded the Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) with First Class Honours and the University Medal in 2003, from the University of Wollongong. While completing his degree part time, Joseph worked for Bluescope Steel in several capacities including maintenance, plant engineering, and capital development.
In 2004, Joseph began the PhD at the University of Wollongong, in the area of Semantically Aware Multimedia Delivery. His current research involves the development of a Bitstream Binding Language which binds XML-based metadata into various transport streams along with its associated multimedia resources.
